Abrir

abrir · Spanish, “to open”

A living finca above Lake Arenal — farm, gardens, café & retreat.

Nuevo Arenal · Guanacaste · Costa Rica

bienvenidos · welcome

Abrir is Spanish for to open.

On a hillside where the rainforest meets Lake Arenal, we are opening land that has been farmed for generations — opening gardens you can wander, a kitchen that cooks what the finca grows, hives that sweeten the table, and soon, a quiet place to stay. Some of it you can taste today. Some of it is still taking root. All of it is real.

Farm to table. Rooted in nature. Experienced with heart.

caminar · to walk

One finca, many doors

The plan for Abrir grows in seasons — what's here today, what's in the ground, and what's on the horizon. Wander the map.

The Bee Stop — Café & Boutique

The heart of the finca: an open timber hall where breakfast comes from the garden beds below, the honey comes from our own hives, and every table looks at the lake. Gluten-free bread, real espresso, and a boutique of honey and local craft.

florecer · to bloom

Land that feeds, blooms and shades

Old fruit trees hung with bromeliads. Embankments of Persian shield. Young palms settling into the hillside, coffee under the canopy, and a green window that opens straight onto the lake. The gardens of Abrir are planted for the table, for the pollinators, and for the walk between them.

quedarse · to stay

A quiet grove of your own

Deeper in the trees, away from the café and the road, the retreat is taking shape: guest bungalows, a yoga deck, a fire circle, and trails that belong only to the people staying the night. Private, secluded, and reserved for registered retreat guests.

Growing now — no dates to promise yet. Say hello and we'll keep you posted.
